Please join Agriculture Secretary Joe Bartenfelder and Deputy Secretary Jim Eichhorst as they kick off the 2016 “Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trail” with a visit to the newest creamery on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Woodbourne Creamery at Rock Hill Orchard, 28600 Ridge Rd, Mt. Airy, MD, 21771 from 11:00 a.m. until noon.
The purpose of the Ice Cream Trail is to highlight the important contributions of Maryland’s 455 dairy farms, which accounted for $173 million in sales in 2015; and to increase the public’s general understanding of dairy farming by encouraging them to visit a farm and see what dairy farming is really like, all while enjoying delicious, locally produced ice cream at one of Maryland’s nine farm-based creameries.
